Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2009

This collection maybe made to interpret the nowadays style of Aurora (Sleeping Beauty character) as the models walked the runway in some glossy men’s silk pajamas, spotted or striped. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have made some ridiculous outfits to wear but they also could work it so well. There were lots of exaggerated geometric constructions (big Minnie Mouse-ear sleeves), circles and rectangles exaggerated hips and shoulders of many satin dresses, blouses and jackets. There were also hot pants, wide palazzo pants, pencil skirts and cocktail jackets. At a point where most handbag displays have become lackluster, Dolce and Gabbana's literally shone, loaded with sequined embroideries and gold chains (a smart proposition for toting a purse as a piece of jewelry).

This is the most ridiculous trend that I really like. Silk pajamas suddenly appeared almost in every pieces of this presentation. There were some spotted, striped and plain silk pajamas. I never have a little thought to see a woman wearing silk pajamas and walk the street or red carpet. But suddenly, Jessica Alba walked the red carpet wore one of this exquisite pajamas and looked so confusing. You must have a big personality to pull out the beautifulness of these silk pajamas. Because the models looked so beautiful wore this pajama, but neither did Jessica Alba.

This is the best trend that appeared on many shows including in Dolce & Gabbana. There were lots of exaggerated geometric constructions (big Minnie Mouse-ear sleeves), circles and rectangles exaggerated hips and shoulders of many satin dresses, blouses and jackets. Some of Hollywood A-Lister have worn these beautiful geometric dresses on the red carpet. Jessica Alba wore the red exaggerated hips dress, mean while Beyonce wore the big Minnie Mouse-ear sleeves in the black version and the sleeves have been watered down. I must admit that I love the dress of Beyonce, but I hope there's no more watered down version of the dress on red carpet because I love some drama.

In the end of the presentation, they really wowed me with these beautiful bouquets dresses. It was all-out with romantic ball skirts and ball gowns studded with roses. It was full of drama and mesmerizing my eyes. I hope the ball gown will appear on the red carpet and won't just be the editorial dresses, just like Dolce's Spring 2008 painted ball gown.

These are my favorites :)
