Best Spring 2009 Runway: Louis Vuitton

It feels like seeing a Parisian Chic when i see the presentation of Louis Vuitton Spring 2009. Marc Jacobs spoiled my eyes (again) with the combination of his crazy idea of Parisian Chic and a depression chic style. I see so many bright colors, such as orange, green, and blue in this collection.. The styling is a lil bit looked like Marc Jacobs' Spring 2009 collection, but i like it better... With its multitude of tiny, flippy skirts; obi-cinched waists; glittery sweaters; padded-shoulder jackets; and elegant wide-leg pants—had something to seduce everyone. There are so many sizzling accessories to spoil you with a tribal style.

Here are some trends from the collection...

Feathers strangely appeared on this spring collection, which is not so summer. Feathers are appeared in dresses or skirt. The best feathers is the green dresses that Madonna has wore. It looked as fierce as Madonna and so tres chic.

Sheer/See-Thru stuff maybe has been presented by many designers on Spring 2007 collection, including by LV. But it didn't make Marc Jacobs stop using it as a top for the collection. He combined it with structural-shouldered jacket or various skirts.

Louis Vuitton (or even Marc Jacobs) never produced much gowns/red carpet dresses. He always chooses to make 2 pieces outfit. And the skirts from this collection is so Parisian. There are many skirts come from various length, details, shapes and material. There are skirts that combined with tutu and patent skirts with a big pocket on it..

and the shoes are HOT !!!!

Nylon Mexico: Leighton Meester

Leighton Meester graces the cover of NYLON Mexico Magazine's I ♥ NY edition. She looks natural as the make up artist didn't put heavy make up on her. I really love her bangs and the jacket that she wore on the cover. But she kinda looked like Rachel Bilson here.
Btw, Nylon is one of my favorites magazine.

Leighton Meester attended the launching of her Nylon Magazine cover in Mexico City this weekend. Blair Waldorf wore Preen Spring 2009 Dress which has sparkling detail and sheer overlay. She completed her look with strappy heels and black clutch. I wish she did her hair better than this and use another heels.
But I love it !

VOGUE FEBRUARY 2008: Blake Lively

Blake Lively graces the cover of American Vogue wearing a black Marc Jacobs Spring 2009 dress with a yellow sash. I love Blake in here. She looks so elegant and beautiful. But I'm a bit curious about the full photo, because US Vogue never gives us a full-length photos.

Here are some extracts from her interview:

On how the show ignores the economic recession:: "We live in an alternate universe on the show; it's a heightened reality, so I don't think the writers would work that in. They created a show that people can watch after a long day and not have to stress and worry and feel the burdens of real life. It's just an escape, watching these sparkly lives and just escaping into this other world for an hour."

On the clothes: "The fashion is just unbelievable. You can watch our show on mute and be entertained. Just being here, walking around, you pick it up really quickly. In New York, you put on skinny jeans and riding boots and a leather coat and handbag, and you take on that posture and character. It becomes very natural."

On putting her personal touches on Serena's wardrobe: "The more they work with me and see my style, and the more I learn about fashion, the more input I have. It's more collaborative now than it was in the beginning because then I had no idea what I was doing."

What I like about this edition is Coco Rocha was featured in it!

OBAMA's BALL

I know it's kinda late to talk about the gown/suit that they wore. But I really wanna talk about it :)

Our lovely first lady looked divine wearing white chiffon one-shouldered gown with flowery detailed and beading made by Jason Wu and President Barack Obama wore a custom tuxedo made by Chicago-based designer Hart Schaffner Marx.

According to Associated Press, "Wu said he sewed the dress himself as late as December. He said he sent sketches to Obama at the suggestion of Ikram Goldman, who owns the Ikram boutique in Chicago where Michelle Obama has been known to shop. He did not know she had selected the dress until she appeared in it, he said. ‘It’s soft, feminine, but powerful; I wanted to convey all that in a dress,’ he said. ‘I wanted it to look like a sign of hope.’"
When they were dancing, Beyonce sung Etta James's At Last with a very proud feeling. Beyonce wore Armani Prive Gown which for me, making her looked more fat...

Designer always has his own muses for his collection. Hedi Slimane, the former designer of Dior Homme, has Cole Mohr as his skinny muse. Now, John Galliano has Bobby Trendy as his muse for his Fall 2009 collections.

Maybe, many of you don't really know who's Bobby Trendy. I got the infos from wikipedia and here's what i got:

Raymond John Muro was born in Valencia, California, he claims he was dubbed "Bobby Trendy" in the seventh grade when people noted the trendy clothing he always wore. Before becoming a designer and interior decorator, Trendy worked as a cashier at Kmart.
Trendy opened his business, Designs by Bobby, in 1998. Specializing in custom furniture and interior design, the business grew quickly and gained several famous clients including Dennis Rodman, Janet Jackson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Snoop Doggy Dogg, and Cypress Hill.
