I first spotted this Dominican beauty at the Louis Vuitton Fall 2009 presentation. Her funky hair really caught my eyes and of course her Louis Vuitton color-popping coat. I love her small face and also her skin color. Sexy and fierce! She was discovered while playing volleyball in her home town, Santo Domingo in the Republic of Dominica. She's only 18 and she's ready to conquer this fashion world.

And recently, Cordero covers French Vogue April 2010 edition. She looked fierce with the Louis Vuitton belt that she wore as a necklace. You can see that Carine loved her by putting her in the cover. Cordero becomes the First Solo Black Model Since 2002 (Liya Kebede was the last) to cover this magazine.

Carine Roitfield is BLACKLISTED from Balenciaga

Just got the news that French Vogue ed-in-chief, Carine Roitfield have been blackliste by the House of Balenciaga (via. WWD)

“"We’re blacklisted, ...It’s too bad, it’s a beautiful house and it’s French. I hope that it’s not forever.”

WWD further reports that Roitfeld "noted Balenciaga no longer advertises in the magazine or lends it clothes, but stopped short of giving any reason for the rift.

“Ask them,” she said.

Fashionologie notes that "a commenter on Fashionista noted that it may have something to do with Balenciaga's stylist, Marie-Amélie Sauvé, who is no longer styling for the magazine."

I suppose Total Management, who represent Sauvé, should update her profile; which reads:

"Marie Amelie is a regular contributor to American, French and italian Vogue..."

Also:

"In addition to her editorial work, she consults for several fashion houses, including Balenciaga, where she has developed an intense collaboration with Nicolas Ghesquière..."

This Gareth Pugh dress is a major piece of the collection. Beyonce and Daphne Guinness have both wore the modified version of this dress in black color & short-sleeved-modified. And Barli Asmara made this white dress which is really really similar with Pugh's creation.

Balenciaga Fall 2009 & SPOUS by Priyo Oktaviano 2009/2010

Balenciaga Fall 2009 collection is everyone's favorite. Everyone loves the color, the drapery and the texture of the collection. And this dress is one of my favorite. Priyo, who worked at House of Balenciaga when he was young, seems always inspired by Balenciaga. For his second line, Spous, Priyo create this peachy color padded-shoulder cardigan and it looked similar to Balenciaga dress.

Playful and lotta popping color.. That's my very first comment when I saw this collection. Lenny Agustin has been producing some of the most colorful collection in Indonesia's fashion world and in this collection, she didn't disappoint her fans. Besides the kiddish side of this collection, you can see the details are all awesome. Amazing pleating and lovely embroidery completed this collection plus showing the root of Indonesian heritage. Kudos to Ms. Lenny!
PS: I adore those colorful headpieces and the lovely colorful shoes... Chic!
